Haiti Women’s National Football Team qualify for FIFA World Cup
After a historic 2-1 defeat over Chile in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Intercontinental playoff match on February 21, 2023, the Haiti Women’s National Football Team, known as The Grenadiers, has officially qualified to compete in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup competition for the first time.
In the spectacular victory over Chile, Haitian midfielder Melchie Dumornay had a dominant performance, scoring both goals against Chile for the Haitian Women’s National Team. The single goal made against Haiti during the match was scored by Chilean forward Maria Rojas.
The Haitian Women’s National Soccer team will represent Haiti in Group D of this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup. The teams in Group D will include Haiti, England, Denmark & China.
The tournament will kick off this summer from July 20th to August 20, 2023. The games will take place across several sports venues in the host countries of Australia & New Zealand.
